A three-story housing development from the thirties located in the district of Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg will be transformed into a "quarter of nations" for intercultural living. In addition to the existing urban structure the ensemble boasts a U-shaped house in the west and a tower house in the east. The conception is based on design features of the existing apartment buildings with high architectural qualities - traditional red brick is used in order to strengthen the character of the urban neighbourhood. While the floor plan responds to individual home situations, the building forms are inspired by gabled roof house archetypes.Further components of the conception include a construction with leading passive house standards in energy efficiency.
