The new building is designed as a perimeter development along the road, encircling an inner courtyard. It is attached to the old listed buildings of the “Collegium Jenense“, which is the soul of the university, thus rounding off the historic complex in the west. The choice pertain-ing to the number of floors, the colours and the façade structure are in line with the old ba-roque building, interpreting it in a modern way.
