The core of the detention centre is a square courtyard circled by two-storey clinker-clad buildings. The courtyard, with its landscaped garden, serves not only as the connecting unit but is also a high-quality place of sojourn, giving the perspective of a detention centre as an urban microcosm.
Church in the Juvenile Detention Centre
The almost square structure of the church is designed as a solitaire. It is part of the court-yard, which is landscaped and encircled by the detention buildings. The church borders di-rectly with a water basin and can only be reached by bridge. The interior of the church is clear, sparsely furnished and well-lit focusing the altar.
