On February 24th the event „BIM in Deutschland. Sachstand, Perspektiven und Gegensätze“ (“BIM in Germany. Current Situation, Prospects and Differences“ took place in Berlin at the German Centre of Achitecture. During the meeting Steffen Schünecke (Gerber Architekten) has held a lecture about the opportunities that are offered by BIM applications in every day practice. Showing the project Olaya Metro Station in Riyadh, Saudi-Arabia he pointed out how the organization of a team and the work flow can be optimized using BIM and how you can use this program to catch up with the ongoing growth in freedom of scope, quality of architecture and delivery times.

For almost fifty years, Gerber Architekten is working in national and international projects. When winning the competition to plan a central metrostation in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 2012, the designer started working with Building Information Modeling (BIM).
