The groundbreaking ceremony for the new research centre building of Helmholtz Institute Erlangen-Nürnberg for Renewable Energy (HI ERN) will take place on July 10th 2017. The new building for research of ‘printable photovoltaic’ and ‘hydrogen as energy storage’ will be build on campus site of Friedrich-Alexander-University. In November 2015 Gerber Architekten won the first prize in the competitive tendering procedure for designing the new head office of the HI ERN-Institute. The client is the Research Centre Jülich GmbH.
