Day clinic for psychiatry and psychosomaticas, Quakenbrück

With its outpatient services, the new day clinic complements the existing inpatient structures of the existing psychiatric clinic. This is located in the immediate neighbourhood, opposite the main building of the Christian Hospital Quakenbrück. The day clinic is designed as a flat building block that opens up to its surroundings on all sides with large windows. With the inviting character of its sandstone-coloured clinker brick façade, the two-storey building blends harmoniously into the hospital site. By doubling the previous floor space, the new day clinic building offers generous conditions for the various functional areas: Rooms for group therapies, spacious lounge areas, kitchen and cloakroom areas as well as generous sanitary and quiet zones. The light-flooded building has a connecting corridor at the rear, which provides a direct link to the inpatient psychiatry / psychotherapy and psychosomatics departments. This existing three-storey building, which we refurbished in the 1990s, has over 80 inpatient beds. In the transition area there is a quiet terrace adjoining the landscaped outdoor area with various themed gardens.
