Project information
A gently curved band of corten steel stretches across the Loreley plateau. Sometimes it follows the natural topography of the plateau, sometimes it floats in it and serves to stage the legendary slate rock as well as the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley. The competition design combines the landscape with a cultural experience. Five stations are arranged along the route, which introduce visitors to the myths of the Loreley. At the same time, numerous vantage points emphasise the outstanding position of the Loreley in the landscape and enable an intensive experience of nature. The highlight of the dramaturgy is a viewing platform suspended above a deep gorge.
