Project information

The Multiscale Imaging Centre offers a broad spectrum of biomedical imaging procedures. Its structure refers to the typical local clinker architecture, but sets itself apart as a monolithic and sculptural structure with the projections and recesses of its volumes and the façade broken up by bands of windows.
The MIC is divided into three functional zones and is characterised by a series of highly specialised and technologically sophisticated rooms with security levels S1 and S2. Upon entering, one enters a light-filled foyer with diagonally running open staircases. The office and seminar rooms are arranged in a U-shape around the inner courtyard with hanging garden to the right of the foyer. The second functional zone consists of interconnected laboratory landscapes in the central area of the standard floors. In the northern area is the third special function zone with rooms for animal experiments and husbandry as well as microscopy.
