Gerber Architekten have won an open and anonymous competition in which 168 architects from Göttingen, from other parts of Germany and from all over Europe took part.

The building complex, consisting of three U-shaped buildings, is accentuated at the eastern entrance to the site with a six-storey tower building. By combining subtle changes in the depth of the facade with bold incisions and indentations, structured and rhythmic masses are created.

Gerber Architekten have already designed the university library for Göttingen.
