On 13.11.2017 the new Centre for Integrative Infectious Disease Research (CIID) will be opened and our team of Gerber Architekten will take part. With the completion of the new research centre the University of Heidelberg adopts an unique approach in Germany: in combination with the latest methods of biophysics, physical chemistry, chemical biology and nanotechnology excellent fundament research on medically significant infective agents is done. In close proximity to leading research facilities of Medicine and science the new building adapts like a keystone to the existing 60ties cluster of the “Theoretikum”, whereas it presents itself independently with its clear cubage and anthracite facade.
