Following an invitation of the Lavestiftung Professor Gerber will hold a talk “About the finding of Architecture” and his extensive international work in the series of lectures called “Architecture in dialogue”. This event is planned for January 12th 2018 at the exhibitions grounds in Hannover. After the lecture there will be a talk on the podium with the Berlin architecture journalist Nils Ballhausen and Professor Gerber, in which the statements of the lecture will be intensively discussed.

The world-wide leading property fair MIPIM will be held for the 29th time from 13th to 18th March in the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France. Gerber Architekten are taking part for the fifth time and welcome you this year in the German Pavilion – Riviera Hall, which is co-founded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. Four projects dealing with micro apartments will be presented there. Furthermore at the stand of NRW.INVEST Germany (Stand R8.D13) in cooperation with Metropole Ruhr the Dortmunder Port-Tower of Gerber Architekten will be presented. In Saudi Arabia‘s capital Riyadh, construction work on the largest infrastructure project in the country‘s history is currently taking place at different locations. It is planned to build a subway network with six lines and a length of about 176 kilometers. The entire network will in future comprise over 80 stations and four main transfer stations. For one of these four interchange stations, Gerber Architekten were awarded first prize in an international architecture competition in 2012. Construction work is progressing well and is expected to be completed in 2019.

In the competition proceedings of the two parts “New construction of office building” and “new construction of a multi-Storey car park” in Unna Gerber Architekten have been awarded for both projects with recognition. The central design idea for both projects has been to strengthen the complete station area as entrance into the city and by building two solitary buildings to condense the urban appearance to create a representative complete ensemble

In the new publication “BIM in practice” the use of the digital planning method “Building Information modelling (BIM) the focus is on the practical use and offers many insights into projects and it’s detailed design. Project partners of eleven leading construction companies report in interviews about their experiences with the integration of BIM into their working processes. Also Gerber Architekten allow insights into their practical work of projects where BIM has been used and talk about the added value of this working method, but also about the difficulties and risks.

Now we have got the official confirmation: In the competition for the „Hainan BOAO Bio-Medical Regeneration Clinic and Research Center“, Gerber Architekten have been awarded the first prize. On the island of Hainan in the South China Sea a medical center including a stem cell research center will be built on an resort of about 90.000 m². This unique combination of medical specialist departments, which work on the highest level and institutions, equipped with highest comfort, serve the recreation and regeneration and will be situated around a generously designed lake.
