The basic idea of the concept “New housing at the Springbach courts” is a balance of structured urban space – elements , clear urbanistic forms, an defined urban centre, as well as the response to the exisiting urban environment. In order to challenge the high sustainable urban planning standarts, the quarter is designed as a compact complex, with a heterogeneous building structures and a grid-like street arrangement. The centre of the quarter comprises a supply facility and a community centre. As an positive effect of short distances energy can be saved up. Furthermore, the urban center provides neighbourhood identification. Likewise, the wide greened area along the pathway “Grünanger” is an equivalent to a park that allows meetings between the neighbours and provides recovery.
