The King Fahad National Library in Riad, Saudi-Arabia, designed by Gerber Architekten, is nominated for this years Aga Khan Award for Architecture. Out of 348 suggested projects, the 19 finalists were chosen. The winners will be pronounced in November 2016.

“We are very proud that the King Fahad National Library was nominated by the judges under leadership of his highness Prinz Aga Khan IV. All 19 projects on the shortlist are top-class projects. We are very happy about the nomination. It is a very important honor for us”, says Prof. Eckhard Gerber.

To strengthen the Muslim culture, the architectural price is handed out worldwide. The award can be won every three years – since 1977, for the 13th time – and is endowed with 1 Million US Dollars.
