The refurbishment of the GC-Complex at the Ruhr-University Bochum involves stripping back the building to the basic structure. A central consideration is the integration of the complex into the existing architectural and formal structure of the Ruhr-University Bochum.

Facilities which are shared by the faculties are located along a main route which has been newly created to improve orientation and access.

Gerber Architekten completed the IC-Complex in 2013; the IA- IB- and NA- Complexes and the ZGH are currently in planning.

Gerber Architekten have won an open and anonymous competition in which 168 architects from Göttingen, from other parts of Germany and from all over Europe took part.

The building complex, consisting of three U-shaped buildings, is accentuated at the eastern entrance to the site with a six-storey tower building. By combining subtle changes in the depth of the facade with bold incisions and indentations, structured and rhythmic masses are created.

Gerber Architekten have already designed the university library for Göttingen.

The competition for the new building of the faculty of sports and health sciences and the university athletics centre at the Campus of TU Munich (TUM) in the Olympic Park has been decided.

The Gerber Architekten proposal is a complex of two neighbouring buildings embedded in the topography which as freely accessible landscape elements form a development of the original idea of the listed Olympic Park. It was awarded a second prize.

The designs will be shown from 31th March to 7th April at the gymnastics hall of the TUM Campus in the Olympic Park.

Gerber Architekten win the VOF procedure in Bochum as general planners.

The refurbishment of the NA-Complex at the Ruhr-University Bochum involves stripping back the building to the building shell. The subsequent reconstruction of the building for the Department of Chemistry and Biology as well as the Department of Physics and Astronomy will be in accordance with listed building criteria and will preserve the building structure as far as possible.

Facilities which are shared by the faculties are located along the main route, newly created to improve orientation and access.
